The HMR-305 is a broad faced raising hammer that moves the metal quickly when the metal is hammered from the outside of a broad shape. The metal is compressed down to the stake and is left in a relatively smooth condition when compared to bowls or hollowware that is raised with a narrow crosspien. The HMR-305 is often used for angle raising with a R-101 Raising Stake.

Steven ★★★★★

I’ve been using this hammer to shape a copper bowl, and the broad face moves the metal exactly where I want it without skipping. It compresses the metal down to the stake smoothly, leaving a clean finish. Definitely a solid tool for raising work.

Ellie ★★★★★

The broad face on this hammer really compresses the metal down fast, just like the description says. I used it on a copper bowl from the outside and was surprised how quickly the shape tightened up. It's a solid tool that does exactly what it's supposed to do for raising work.

James ★★★★★

Finally, a hammer that actually moves the metal where I want it. The wide face compresses the work down onto the stake without any slipping, and it’s noticeably faster than my old planishing hammer.
