I needed a smaller mandrel for delicate rings, and the taper from 14mm down to 6mm is exactly what I was looking for. The polished steel surface is smooth enough that my wire slides perfectly without snagging.

For such a small tool, the polish on this mandrel surprised me — no snags at all when I hammer a 10mm bezel down. The steel feels solid enough to take daily use without denting, which is exactly what I needed for consistent sizing.

Finally, a mandrel that's actually polished smooth instead of leaving those annoying roughness marks on my work. The 14mm end handles tiny bezels perfectly, and the steel holds up well even when I'm hammering firmly. I've already used it for a dozen pieces and it hasn't dulled or chipped at all.
