Casting and Cleaning

When casting, your temperature should generally be 100˚F (37.7˚C) above the liquidus point, or slightly hotter for intricate castings. We recommend using a small amount of high-quality flux, such as Bench Basics Borax, when melting with an open flame. For further cleaning, mechanical methods are recommended.

---

Re-Using

If you plan to reuse fine silver castings, first remove oxides from the surface using a pickling solution. Then, tumble the silver with a burnishing compound to remove any remaining debris. We recommend a minimum 1:1 ratio of new grain to used silver.

---

Composition

Our fine silver is electrolytically produced in our state-of-the-art facility, boasting a nominal purity of 99.99%+ fine.

Joseph ★★★★★

Melts down so smoothly for my small casting projects, and the 99.9% purity gives me real peace of mind about the final pieces. Each batch has come out clean with no oxidation issues.

Kevin ★★★★★

The grain melts evenly and pours without oxidation issues, which made my first casting session noticeably smoother than with cheaper alloys. The 99.9% purity gives me confidence in the final result, and it’s already become my go-to for fine silver work.

Henry F. ★★★★★

I’ve been using this fine silver shot for a few small casting projects and it melts evenly with no contamination. The purity is consistent from batch to batch, which saves me time polishing.
