Learn how to install and use the Foredom Bur Holder Arm Accessory to organize your flex shaft workbench, save space, and keep tools within easy reach.

Quick answer

Attach the Foredom Bur Holder Arm to your flex shaft stand or base workbench using the included Allen wrench, then load your burs and tools into the two-tier holder for instant access without clutter.

Why add a bur holder arm to your workbench

If you work with rotary tools, you know how quickly a bench becomes a tangle of burs, drill bits, and handpieces. The Foredom Bur Holder Arm mounts directly to the flex shaft stand or base workbench system, giving you a dedicated 12-inch-long rack that takes up zero additional bench surface. The two-tier design holds up to 57 tools in the center tier alone, keeping everything upright and easy to grab.

Because the arm attaches to the stand itself, your workbench stays clear for the task at hand. There is no need to drill holes or clamp anything to the bench—the Allen wrench that came with your stand is all you need.

How to install the Foredom Bur Holder Arm

  1. 1. Locate the mounting holes on your stand: Look for two pre-drilled holes on the vertical post of your Foredom flex shaft stand or base workbench system. The Bur Holder Arm is designed to align with these holes. If your stand does not have matching holes, verify that you have the correct Foredom stand model—the arm is not universal.
  2. 2. Align the arm and insert the bolts: Hold the arm against the stand so the two-tier rack faces outward. Insert the two bolts (included with the arm) through the arm's bracket and into the stand holes. Do not tighten yet. A common mistake is forcing the arm into a position that blocks access to the flex shaft handpiece. Adjust the angle before tightening.
  3. 3. Tighten with the Allen wrench: Use the 4mm Allen wrench that came with your stand to tighten both bolts evenly. The arm should feel solid and not wobble when you load tools. Over-tightening can strip the threads in the stand's aluminum post. Tighten until snug, then give a quarter turn more.
  4. 4. Load your tools: Place burs, drill bits, and small handpieces into the 57 holes of the center tier. Use the outer tier for longer or thicker tools that do not fit in the center holes. Keep frequently used tools in the front rows and less common ones toward the back to maintain a clear view of your work.
